Harbor Island is a master planned community developed in the 1980’s, with much of it lying behind secured gates. The neighborhood sits just to the West of Channelside and just to the South of Downtown and is linked by two bridges. The mixed use development consists of mostly private residences, including high-rise condos, apartments, villas, single-family homes and waterfront estates allowing a diverse population to call Harbor Island home. A thriving business and entertainment district with boutiques, small businesses and world class restaurants sits at the northernmost point and is bordered by rentable boat slips with lifts. Notables located on the Island are; Westin Hotel, Jackson’s Bistro Bar & Sushi restaurant (20,000sqft venue boasting special event space, Sunday brunch, waterfront dining, and a nightclub) and The Harbor Island Athletic Club. The TECO “In-Town” trolley connects the island to Downtown, Channelside and Ybor making travel in between quick and easy.
